Cordillera Blanca

Today I rode up the valley to the Southern end of the Cordillera Blanca. I rode up to 5200 meters which is about 15,600 feet. I saw the glaciers of the second highest mountain range in the world. It was beautiful and no matter how many times I tried, my camera didn’t work.

The dirt road was in good shape and the motorcycle performed well at the high altitude. Green valleys were almost floating like a peat bog. The cliffs and ridges shot upward steeply and were capped with glaciers. It was nice to be in the mountains again.

I bought a new camera when I got to Huaraz, so I should have more pictures coming.
